What happens to the numbers you type, and what third-party advertising involves.
This policy explains what happens to information when you use this site. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so it is shorter than most.
What you type into a calculator
Your calculator inputs never leave your browser. Every calculation runs locally in JavaScript served as a static file. Your salary, share count, strike price, valuation and filing status are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, are not written to a server, and are not stored between visits. There is no account and no login.
If you share a calculator link that includes your figures, those figures travel in the part of the address after the # symbol. Browsers do not send that portion to servers, but anyone you send the link to can read it. Do not share such a link with someone you would not show the numbers to.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising served by Google, including Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve advertisements to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may serve ads on this site and may use cookies to do so. We do not control those cookies and do not receive the information they collect. Google’s handling of data is described in its privacy and terms.
Advertising cookies are set by the advertising provider, not by us, and are not linked to anything you type into a calculator. There is no mechanism by which your financial inputs could reach an advertiser, because those inputs are never sent anywhere.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland
Where required, a consent message is shown before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you may accept or decline. Declining does not restrict any part of the site — every calculator works identically either way, because none of them depends on advertising or on cookies.
You have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data held about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. In practice we hold no personal data about you at all, so such a request is best directed to Google in respect of advertising data.
Analytics
The site runs no analytics scripts. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no third-party measurement or session-recording tool. If that changes, this page will change first.
Server logs
The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent — are generated by the hosting infrastructure as a technical necessity and are handled under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not use them to build profiles and do not combine them with anything else.
Children
This site is aimed at working adults with employer equity and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
